Artist's Comments

In reading stock site rules (not dA art-stock but commercial stock sites) I get the feeling that there are a few themes that they are just absolutely not interested in.

1) Sunsets 2) Flames 3) Flags

Now... I know that there are a bazillion sunset photos out there... but do you know why? It is because every one, every where, is different.

Often, the same sunset from the same place is different a few minutes later.

How can anyone NOT like sunsets? Anyhow, I do.

Here's one from Illinois. I kept driving till I found an appropriate place to pull off and capture it. I regret that I missed the red orb of the sun that lay just over the horizon as we came through the town just south of where this was taken but ... This one works!!

Lovely.
If you stand under those transmission lines with a fluorescent blub, will it light up?

Nice shot
I like it better this way, than how it would have liked without the power lines.
It could have been a shot from around here, but not from this year :)
The sky was covered most of the time!

It's funny you should point that out (the power lines). I kept driving till I could find an obstacle that wouldn't detract from the scene. During a sunset, timing is important - wait too long and it's gone... but then, the landscape is also important, and some of my better shots have had something interesting in the foreground or silhouetted that tends to make the photo more "complete".

You are right, and here the power lines are completing it :)
