Artist's Comments

An experiment with 'depth of focus'... this was at f13 and ISO 800 to try to get the whole inside of the tulip in focus.

I almost prefer the macros which focus on the extreme front tip of the flower and the rest fades but I was trying for the depth of focus that this actually achieved. given a tripod and even more light, I might have been able to get the outside of the flower focused even more, too.

I am still learning... And pleased with the result of this.

Beautiful:) waiting for the flowers and lilacs to come out around my parents house so I can take some more pictures. My new camera has the macro setting so I love messing with it and seeing what I can get.:)

I wish I could have done this before the super hot weather we had, it burned all the edges of the tulips in my new yard. Lots of different colors too! I'm so bummed.

PS: You can get the whole flower in focus by backing away for the shot and cropping the photo as a close up.
