An experiment with 'depth of focus'... this was at f13 and ISO 800 to try to get the whole inside of the tulip in focus.
I almost prefer the macros which focus on the extreme front tip of the flower and the rest fades but I was trying for the depth of focus that this actually achieved. given a tripod and even more light, I might have been able to get the outside of the flower focused even more, too.
I am still learning... And pleased with the result of this.

Beautiful waiting for the flowers and lilacs to come out around my parents house so I can take some more pictures. My new camera has the macro setting so I love messing with it and seeing what I can get.

I wish I could have done this before the super hot weather we had, it burned all the edges of the tulips in my new yard. Lots of different colors too! I'm so bummed.
PS: You can get the whole flower in focus by backing away for the shot and cropping the photo as a close up.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This is YOUR opportunity to mock, ridicule and generally take great delight and amusement whilst poking fun at the beloved Volunteers and Staff of deviantART.
