Artist's Comments

Sorry for the large size, but for the sake of the photo, I had to do it.

This morning from my front yard...

Run for Your... *squish*

jokes a side thisis a really beautiful shot, love the colors, and it almost seen to have an irony to it, the earth cloudy, kinda scary and the sky super defined and warm.

Lots of jet contrails... I konw, it takes the myhstery out of it when you find out it's a man-made cloud. Pretty shot anyway..

Thanks! I thought so too.... this was actually the first time I've done a multi-photo panorama shot that really did come out the way I wanted. :-) (there's five photos in here blended together).

actually... know what i did?? I figured out that on my olympus, if i put it into panorama mode... it helps keep the colors/lighting the same between shots. It was an accidental discovery... but since i finally figured that out, i used it yesterday... I turned my camera to "portrait" mode, and took 5 side-by-side shots... since the lighting and colors were good, I was able to make them look like one pretty well. It's the first panorama shot that I am really proud of. (okay 2nd but this is the best of the 2).

now... the software I used to stitch them together is a freeware or "lite" version, so it reduced the scale somewhat... then I cropped the mismatched edges across the top and the "panorama perfect" logo off the bottom... and this was the final result.

since it blended so easily, I may take the original 4mp photos and try putting them together in something that will leave them full-sized... and try to do a poster-sized print of it. maybe. :-)
