Springtime's warmth thaws me out,
Sunshine and birds and frogs call to me,
On my belt a leather cup holds my little tripod,
My camera is glad to be shed of winter's chill.
Hot summer days bring thunderstorms,
The sun and rain encourage growth,
I love to photograph the rainbows,
To taste the fresh picked berries.
Frosty autumn evenings come one, then another,
And soon the trees are lit so brightly
It's like tasting a spicy peppermint,
But with eyes tingling instead of tongue.
Then winter's first snow falls,
Peaceful, calm, covering everything,
Then just cold, and cold, and more cold,
I meet each new day with sad, sad surrender.
Till next the warmth calls me out again...
